For some reason I make constant references to Joan of Arc when I'm writing about fashion. I don't how exactly I started recognizing certain fashion elements as joan of arc-ness, but fall fashion was filled with them! I love the combination of textures in both YSL's and Christopher Kane's looks, and the coats that would go over them by Alberta Ferreti and Burberry. The overall characteristic here is a strong torso, defined by strong shoulders and cinched waists. It would be shot by Inez Van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin in front of large scale paintings depicting different battles and moments in her life (like a backdrop in a play) in black and white with Diana Dondoe as Joan of Arc.
Kinda genius if you ask me. Ha!
