Perfect dresses for cocktails and Billie Holiday.
2. Bottega Veneta:
There's something so powerful and sexy about this look. Love the swimsuit and the texture of the coverup. I could definitely see this look in an editorial shot in the desert. Fabulous.
3. Burberry Prorsum:
Tough and sexy. But I guess that's the whole point of Burberry, right?
4. Derek Lam:
This is such a great look! I love the contrast between the almost folkloric print top, and the futuristic sparkly skirt. This should really be in my closet.
My mom loves safari looks and has always tried to incorporate them into her wardrobe. This outfit is so cool because it's very safari, but also kind of futuristic. The proportion of the jacket with the baggy rolled-up shorts is fantastic, and in contrast with the utilitarian-ness of this the printed blouse brings a little femininity. It's so simple and that's why it's so right.
Any dress that reminds me of a cool painting is usually a winner in my book. If you add to that the fact that blue is my favorite color and the whole ensemble reminds me of the ocean, it is safe to say that I'm absolutely in love with this. I would pair it with Dr Martens during the daytime to make it more casual and less fussy, and of course at nighttime with a bright pair of heels (maybe purple or red). Amazing.
Because I still want to be a lady. And those shoes are killer.
