Paris Spring 08: Alexander McQueen

Where do I even begin with this collection? It was truly magnificent. You could feel the McQueen spirit in all the clothes and the hats, designed by Philip Treacy. This look opened the show and I think it succinctly expresses the way the McQueen woman lived. A tailored piece with a bold, blood red belt emphasizing the waist. It's got tons of attitude.

I am loving these short jumpsuit things. Again, have no idea where one wears something like this, bu I really want it.

What makes this stand out is that it's all fleshtones, which makes this otherwise normal secretary at studio 54 outfit ooze with sex appeal.

The bird theme was recurring throughout the show, and although in later looks he really came up with amazing constructions, I think this is one of the most original because it's the bird kind of hiding behind his wings. It's still a literal interpretation but one of the most wearable.

Love the color. Love the shape. Love the fabric. I think this is one of the most literal reinterpretations of looks past. I definitely remember seeing a similar dress to this one before.

No words to describe the beautiful detail in this gown.

If you remove the metal grill from this, you are left with an almost princess-like dress, just one that's been updated for now.
