Violently Happy

I am writing this sitting on my old bed at my mom's house in Puerto Rico. In two days we are going on a beach vacation where I am going to be completely disconnected from the world. I am looking forward to sitting by the shore, drink in hand and think about everything and nothing at all. So I guess what I'm trying to say is, I'm out my darlings, I'll be back in a week. Until then, feel free to lust over these ridiculously awesome Nine West sandals that are my current sandal obsession (yes, I have a lot of shoe obsessions going on all the time, it's healthy. I'm sure).

Dude yeah, Nine West can be sort of take it or leave it sometimes, but when you wanna take it, YOU REALLY WANT TO TAKE IT. They're only 99 bucks and ship around mid-June. Total perfection.

Ok, now I'm really going. Take care all of you!

ps. I broke down and bought my first chick lit book on my flight here (Hudson News didn't have WWD Collections so I picked the next best thing), Bergdorf Blondes by Plum Sykes. You know what? It's funny and witty and an easy read. I recommend it if you are ever going on vacation and just want to escape and read something fun that won't make you want to kill yourself after you are done. I have another book to tackle this week, The Beautiful Fall by Alicia Drake, but I am saving that one for when I am surrounded by the sea and sand, because who could possibly be a better vacation companion than Karl and Yves?

Nine West is so spot on right now it's uncanny. I have bought two pairs of shoes from there in two weeks, after a two year sabbatical. They must have got in a crop of good designers. I would have gladly sent you my copy of Bergdorf Blondes, had I known. It's one of those things where you read it once and then you promise never to let your brain down in that way again. . .

Nine West does some really brilliant shoes...
PS: Bergdorf Blondes was fun, but if you ever spot Plum Sykes's second book, The Debutante Divorcee, don't pick it up- it's rubbish . And not even half as funny as BB. The Beautiful Fall's a much better fashion-y read..
