Ladies and gentledudes, I present to you the nail polishes that will be on rotation this summer. I am a total nail polish freak, not in a "I have a bajillion colors and an unhealthy addiction" sort of way, but in the "my nails always need to be painted" way (this doesn't mean that they're always perfect, as I pretty much wait for them to completely chip off before I paint them again, unless I have a fancy place to go to).
Anywho, so last year I was totally stoked on the Chanel nail polishes because it was a small way to treat myself to something nice. That's how I came across the awesomely peachy Orange Blossom shade that has been the ONLY color grazing my toes since last summer. I am super anal about appropriate shades for toenails. I mean, you can't do anything thats blue or green or black because then you just look like you have some kind of gross fungus, and I've seen reds that look too bloody, and I don't know, I think it's just my pet-peeve. So this color is great because it sort of blends in with my skin tone, except not really, and it's just the right amount of bright. At this point it's become such a part of me that I feel weird if I wear sandals and my toes aren't painted; like my feet are naked.
The other three colors were all purchased at Urban Outfitters and I gotta tell you, they are AWESOME! I hadn't painted my nails blue or green since I was in high school but that teal color looks super rad on. The only problem is that it can look a little matte, so you might wanna do an overcoat of a clear polish on top to make it look cool. I don't think I had worn purple nail polish before, but this one is a really cool shade, and I recommend the clear polish on this one as well. And the pink? Well the pink is my dream shade, suspiciously close to my favorite Prismacolor color pencil, Process Red. The first time I wore it I kept getting compliments left and aright from random people, which was weird, considering its just nail polish. So yeah. Fun times!
Who knew I had so much to say about nail polish?
