At first look this dress could seem a little mature and blah, but I think if you make a little effort to look past it, you would see all the wonderful details and you would see how beautiful it is. (I think this is a perfect example of how important the models are; she looks tired and grumpy and who wants to wear a dress that makes you tired and grumpy?). It's sort of conservative-disco-fabulous and given the right circumstances, it could really make a girl shine.
2. 3.1 Phillip Lim:
The first things I thought of when I came across this look was "Omg, now I can be just like Camille Bidault Waddington!" Although I'm not sure I would pair a denim jacket with a denim jumper (I don't have a problem with wearing denim with denim, I just can only do it if it's mismatched denim), that jacket would certainly feel right at home with my unwitting denim jacket collection (which I've been meaning to post about, but it's been so hot that I just don't feel like dressing up, but seriously, I have at leas 5 different denim jackets!).
Yes, this is sort of an ordinary look, but there is something luxuriously ordinary about it. Even though I am not a fan of drawstring waists, I really like the pants, they remind me of cargo pants without actually being cargo pants (thank god) and the charcoal color feels right. Paired with a grey tank top and simple flip flops, this is the perfect outfit for a lazy Sunday when you just sort of let the day make the plans for you.
