I picked up a few things that I'm semi-proud of on my recent birthday shopping extravaganza. Although I didn't find a pair of khakis in the boy's department at Gap, I did pick up this awesome blue-on-blue polka dotted shirt. Little boy buttondowns' are one of my favorite things to wear and I am slowly putting together a collection (I have 4 so far). I buy them in a size M, which means they fit snug around my chest (I guess not having any boobs is finally good for something) and once I fold the cuff on the sleeves they are the perfect 3/4 length. After I left Gap, I stopped by Forever 21 to see if they had the schmolce & blabbana shoes. I didn't find the shoes, but I did find this insane plaid bustier that made me second guess myself. At first, I walked by it and went "oh wow, that looks pretty cool, seems like something Alice Dellal would wear". Now, I have no idea how and when Alice Dellal infiltrated my brain enough for me to consider buying something because it seems like the kind of stuff she can pull off, yet there it was. I did a loop around the store and came back to the bustiers, the fabric was nice, and dammit, it was my chance to try my hand at partying-on Cassandra style. I was on the phone with my mom and asked her "Hey mom, I'm standing in front of a bunch of plaid bustiers, should I get one?" she said yes. I did. When I got home I tried everything together and it looked.... good? I added the Chloe booties but they were not jellin' with the length of the pants so I just went for it, and Holme'd* my pants. It worked! I felt very French editor in this outfit (even though Carine would never be caught dead wearing these colors), but still eh? I'm fairly pleased with myself.
* Dudes, if that expression ever caught on it would be the most hilarious thing ever.
And I know, two outfit posts in a row. But... I got all this awesome stuff that I wanted to share! I might hold back for the rest of the week and do the rest next week. It's just weird man, weird, I don't wanna be all self-obsessed and sexxee unless Thurston Moore sings it to me.
