NYC Spring 09 II

1. BCBG Max Azria:
BCBG is usually whatever trends digested and ready to sell to the general public, but I quite like this color-blocked dress. It's giving me a Jonathan Saunders-ish vibe, but with a more relaxed silhouette.

2. Rachel Comey:
I loved the grunge vibe and the mix of patterns at Rachel Comey's show. I love the vintage wallpaper feel of the cardigan above. I also really like the way her shows are styled because the girls just look like girls you would see walking around in the city. It's very accessible.

This is borderline ugly and that's why I love it. The staggered print on the top is perfection in it's awkwardness and the yellow pants are ten kinds of wrong and they just ROCK. Rachel Comey is just cool, man, just cool.

3. Jenni Kayne:
The print on this dress is so beautiful and I love the way the top flounces around. The woven belt is an unexpected touch but really takes the look to another level.

More unexpected awesomeness from Jenni Kayne, this time she paired up a blue oxford with boyfriend-like proportions with an exquisitely glamorous gold skirt. It feels very American classic, like I could see Lauren Hutton rocking this with a Panama Hat and some top siders. Again, the brown woven belt brings an added dose of cool to this look.

4. Jason Wu:
Beautiful mix of prints and fabrics in this one, very lady like and grown up.

That Jenni Kayne dress is gorgeous, the shine of the fabric, the print, the shape. And you're right about that woven belt! I also love how it kinda peeks out.
