If this is middle-of-the-road design, then I can't imagine the kind of stuff they would do if they were high road. Their spring collection was intensely sensual, tough and raw. I don't know that they had ever shown this side of themselves and even at their kookiest, the clothes were amazing.
They did these awesome seams on a lot of their pieces, which I'm calling "outline seams", that I thought were absolutely fantastic. They feel very sensual, like you are walking around with this aura around your figure, ok that doesn't make sense when I write it, but it made sense in my head. It's a strong suit that somehow retains an air of playful femininity and the contrast between the virginal white suit with the exposed black zipper, black leather details and red gloves is insanely hot. Helmut Newton would freak.
I don't know how to say this, so I'm just going to blurt it out. I want to BE this girl! The hair is exactly what I've always wanted and will never attain in real life, the glasses are weird and quirky. And the clothes? THE CLOTHES! They're trashy and sexy and tacky and rich. It's just the perfect shade of green paired with the most insane plasticized(?) pants ever. Red shoes. Yes.
Well I can't wear the same thing everyday, can I? This dress captures all of the things that made me love the previous outfit and then multiplied it by 10. That zipper down the front is MAYJAH.
Yeah, this is weird and a little house-painter-gone-mad, but I don't hate it. What's wrong with me? I think it's the "shirt and tie" under it but I'm not sure. Honestly, I can't explain it. I just like it. There, the Apple Jack defense comes out again! (Also, daaaaaaaamn Karlie, you iz workin it!)
I have no excuses for this one either. I just thought it looked good in the context of the show.
The "outline seam dress" with the weird black chest-hugging wings. You totally just went "what?" and I'm all like "DUDE I'M SERIOUS!". She is an insane tough goddess (yes, I know it bunches weird at the waist but I think it can be remedied). It's about two steps away from ridiculous but it still rocks. I can totally see Tilda Swinton rocking it.
The heel isn't anything particularly new and never seen, but I love the industrial details in it and the sneaker-like bump on the back of the sandal.
