I am still not over this lace business

I've been completely obsessed with these Chanel half lace/half black tights. At the beginning of the season I made sure to contact a couple stores and ended up getting on about 7 waiting lists.
Then I found out the tights were $250.
Well, so much for that one.

But everytime I opened a magazine, there was Claudia Schiffer wearing them. Taunting me. Why won't anyone make knockoffs of these? I WAS DYING!
Then suddenly it hit me.
I can't make tights at home, but I sure as hell can make a pair of pants with a lace panel in the front. Eureka.

I headed to Mood last week and picked up some lace (and OMG you guys, that store is amazing. AMAZING!!!). Yesterday I got down to business and 8 hours later...

Voila!

I am really really digging these. I was originally planning on wearing them under dresses and stuff, but I have to admit I kinda like the way they look as straight up pants, especially once I layer some colored tights under. They aren't as "Klassy" looking as the ones Karl sent down the runway but they work fine for me. Actually the first thing I thought of when I saw myself in the mirror wearing them, was that they were totally 80's hair band awesomeness and they reminded me of my favorite crazy 80's band Madam X*.

THIS IS SERIOUS

So yeah. I got my half lace fix, my awesome rock n roll fix and the satisfaction that I made something totally bangin'.
YAY!

*My old roommate Tara discovered this record at a thrift store and brought it home because the cover was insanity and it only cost a dollar. Pretty soon our weekend routine involved getting drunk and listening to this record at a very high volume. Their songs had titles like, "High In High School" and "Reserve the Right to Rock" and such memorable lyrics as "she likes her meat well done" sung in the most fabulous falsetto ever. I will never understand how this band didn't take over the world. They are seriously EPIC. Anywho, I found this video of High in High School so I'm putting it up here because everyone needs to know about the mayjah awesomeness of Madam X.

WHAT ARE YOU SERIOUS? amazing!!!

how do you feel about white lace? not necessarily for this pant ensemble, but in general.

I think I'd have to see it to make a decision. I'd be afraid of it being a little too Like a Virgin...

They are in no way as cool as your pant/ights, but: $15 duotone tights can be had at Urban Outfitters.
