Sleek, minimal, chic. That's really all there is to it.
Always a sucker for a simple dress in a beautiful print. It's a little girlier than the kind of stuff I usually go for, but I really love it.
2. Dries Van Noten:
Dries Van Noten put out a beautiful collection, as usual. It was very American Sportswear as seen through the eyes of a Belgian designer working in Paris I guess, which means that it was nothing like a Michael Kors collection (not that there's anything wrong with Kors). It seemed modern and normal yet with airs of sophistication like we see in old movies. Quite a treasure. The skirt is definitely the star in this look, with its double layers of different volumes, graphic print and paperbag waist. I love the blouse because at first I thought it was like an over-sized man shirt, but then I think it's more like a loose jacket tucked in, and it's amazing how such a simple detail can really change the overall feel of the clothes.
This reminded me a little of Junya Watanabe's collection. I love "interactive" prints, and when you combine such a vibrant fabric with a very energetically draped dress, you end up with a magical garment. It's so simple yet it's not, it's the essence of carefree chic.
Absolutely too cool for school. The colors are vibrant and the contrast in prints and scale looks super rad together. The necklace is AMAZING.
3. Sonia Rykiel:
The sheer sweater with fabric rosettes is absolutely beautiful. You could wear it with jeans or with a fancy skirt and you would always look great. I'm a big fan of making everyday clothes into fancier outings and this one perfectly captures that spirit.
Sheer long striped dress. A Laia dress if I ever saw one (if it was blue then it would DEFINITELY be made for me).
The odd draping in this top combined with the mix of fabrics is absolutely fantastic. Another piece that would go great with jeans or with a nice pair of trousers like they showed on the runway. I love Rykiel's clothes because they are very wearable while still retaining an air of magic, sophistication and sometimes even a slight avant-garde feel.
4. Karl Lagerfeld:
I know you've all seen this elsewhere, but I'll be damned if I'm still not tickled by it. I love Karl. I need this bag. End of story.
