The BCBG show was basically filled with oodles of amazing graphic-print dresses paired with latex tights and chunky shoes, so it was awesome haha. I love stripes, and a dress with crazy stripes in all directions that create some weird quasi-bow at the neck is right up my alley,
This feels very classy/slinky/Donna Karan-esque. Except she hasn't been doing the classy/slinky thing so much anymore (ok, ok so it was just last season) so someone has to step up and do it. The colors are very grown-up and kind of serious. This is a dress that would probably benefit from NOT having gold latex tights, but you know, continuity and whatnot.
This reminds me of when I was little and would color with crayons and then take a black crayon and cover all the areas of the paper while pushing down really hard so I could come in later and scrape the black crayon off to reveal the colors underneath. LOVE.IT. (And at their totally awesome prices, perhaps this one can even be mine? Let's hope s0.)
2. Christian Cota:
Style.com is giving a lot of coverage to new younger designers, which I think is really rad. Christian Cota's collection was pretty rad, but unfortunately the radness reminded me a lot of Balenciaga rad, so it was kind of weird. I love the skirt and the awesome silver chunky necklace.
THIS SKIRT IS IN MOTION, MAAAAAN. need it. now.
3. Charlotte Ronson:
I was surprised by how rad the Charlotte Ronson show was. I don't know, what I was expecting, but I kinda loved it. Anyways, I'm not usually into the sherpa malarky, but the vest and the plaid dress look INSANELY cool together.
4. Bibhu Mohapatra:
This was Bibhu's first collection after spending some time working t J.Mendel. I'm sure his stuff will end up all over the red carpets pretty soon. I love the structure and the colors of this dress. Very classic with a twist.
5. Rachel Comey:
Rachel Comey always has the coolest prints and I love how she mis-matches them. The leopard print is so so so so good.
