NYC Spring 2010: Derek Lam
Derek Lam rocked another amazing collection for next season. I thought his fall collection was really really good, and I'm psyched to see it wasn't a fluke. I think Lam is another designer that doesn't necessarily get the recognition he deserves.
Matching polka dots in different colors are a really good way to make an outfit fun. These two shades also happen to be one of my favorites. I still haven't found a pair of leather shorts that suits me right, but I love these lil' bermuda shorts paired with the tunic with contrasting seams. Hot pants suit. Yes and thank you. The flower print in this look reminds me of a crazy flower vase painting that my grandma has in her dining room. I still love the awesome grunge-revival look of flower print and chunky boots, and this one if perfect for that (and I'm not afraid to admit it!). Another awesome look that features the same fabric in different colors. I would really like to figure out a way to incorporate this into real life because it looks so rad. Perhaps I'll have to hit the fabric store for a little diy action. And the shoes? Amazing. That little inset of striped fabric is the icing on the cake.
