On the one hand, here is a woman, 55 years of age* wearing a completely sheer lace dress over a strapless satin leotard with over-the-knee lace-up boots.
But then of course, it's Carine.
Co-nun-drum.
* I debated whether or not to include her age, but in the end decided it was necessary. On her it doesn't matter (ageless is sexy!) but on average woman Jane Doe it ends up being the main point (cougar fashion!).

Honestly, this makes me happy that I can always count on Anna W. to appear in a killer knee-length dress and a fur.
(even if I generally hate her shoes? this is true.)
I'm confused... yesterday photoshop-perfect body was not good enough for us, today we have a real woman that is not ashamed of her imperfections. Two extremes, hard to judge.
Damn, she really is ageless.
dust: well, yesterdays cover was mostly about the ugly balmain dress, with added bonus of missing hipbone. today is not so much about carine's imperfections (i mean, does she even HAVE any?) and more about age-appropriateness really (is it a real thing that matters? i dont know that they are necessarily intertwines...
yaaa, when i saw this i was honestly kind of shocked. i don't think it has anything to do with her age, i just think the outfit is horrendous. i love carine, like every other woman, but im just not sure what she was trying to do here...

yeah its kinda the outfit in general not necessarily that she's in her 50s. The cape jacket thing for me is the only thing saving the outfit from being a bit goth hooker? I know its Carine and she has all the street cred in the world but still...
I get it, but questions pop up just to amuse us... I'm getting older, 35 to be precise, there is part of me that really hopes to do and look like that, at that age... only I don't have the excuse of living eccentric life style of fashionable crowd....

interesting... but she kind of pulls it off.
I think there are 2 things that allow her to pull this off: 1) She has a great body for someone of any age. 2) She's the editor-in-chief of French Vogue.
If you're not a major fashion icon, you should not attempt this— and even if you are, you still may get criticized. But hey, you only live once. Good for her. I wouldn't have the guts to pull this off at any age!
