Jesus Christ, Pre-fall already. it feels like the Spring shows just ended.
1. Calvin Klein:
You cannot get a much better executed minimalist dress than this one. The silhouette and the color make me think of a dress form, which I think stems from the way the collar is high up at the neck. The devil is in the details, and that little one seems to turn a woman into a being from the future. (The slicked-back hair helps.)
This dress is a little light for Pre-Fall, but the black moccasin-like shoes really ground it and take a bit of its summer-y-ness away. I always love a white dress with black tights, and this one would be totally perfect.
2. Alexander Wang:
Alexander Wang delivered a super rad new silhouette that seems to be at the opposite end of the short/tight/cutout thing he's been doing the last new seasons. I love the midcalf length of the skirt and it's fitted, but not body-con, tulip-esque skirt; which he's paired with a sheer and striped long sleeve top (perhaps in an effort to not make the look too ecclesiastic?). Totally a winner. 3. Rag and Bone:
The cream knit layers are a bit Missoni-esque, but that doesn't take away from the fact that it's all a killer combination. The dark brown boots are the perfect anchor to the look.
Again, a look more suited for Spring than Fall, but the color/print combination is making me weak at the knees. Bonus points: FRINGE! FRINGE! FRINGE!
Yes to monochromatic lower-halves. Especially when done in a shade close enough to your skin color: FAUX NUDITY!
