NYC Spring 2011: Michael Kors

I think every season I realize I love Michael Kors more and more. Intrinsically chic but always with a relaxed, not-taking-itself-too-seriously vibe. The all white linen suit is straight up old-school Banana Republic, when all they sold were safari clothes fit for Lauren Hutton and my mom was OBSESSED with the look. Perhaps I love it because it brings to mind fuzzy memories, but I think it's mostly because it's just super cool.
Platform Jesus sandals = Y E S.

Astro-turf bikini bottoms sound so bad but then in real life they are so good! And what else would you wear with it but a bright blue button down and a thick brown belt? I MEAN...
So many useless accessories for the pool/beach but like, who cares?

This swimsuit is totally KILLER though (and practical it seems). I'm sure this one will get a lot of editorial play, it's such a simple idea but it looks so so good.

(DIY version: buy maillot, wear Zana Bayne harness over it)

A lovely khaki shirtdress worn with a thick leather and canvas belt.
It's just so right.

This is the piece-de-resistance, a sweatshirt wrap dress with a slit up to there.

Oh yea! It is simple and chic! I was almost getting bored to seeing too many nude shades in SS 2011 collections... Nice to see a few collections with different colour palette! Especially that of Christopher Kane!

You absolutely singled out my own favourite looks! (Especially the lead-in of Hanne)! Brilliant post!

The belt detail on that swimsuit/body is amazing, what an amazing garment. Thanks for sharing :)

I've always liked Kors' aesthetic quite a lot!
It's so carefree, yet feminine... simply effortlesly beautiful! ; u ;
I really liked the styling too, flowy hair looks so pretty.

You nailed it! The white linen, the Banana Republic, the Safari and your Mother references: perfect. On thing though: your mother IS still OBSESSED with the Safari look. Until I die!

I would wear everythig, well not the astro turf thingies...

la madre que te pario
